What are the Warning Signs of Worn Tires?

Canandaigua consumers at Ontario Mazda can rest assured that our team does all we can to help them keep their vehicles in good condition. Your vehicle's tires are important because they help with traction, stability, handling, and braking. Here are some signs that you may need new tires.

Check for cracks on the sidewall, and you should also look for bulges and blisters on the outside of the tires. If there is a crack in the sidewall, then a leak could be forming in your tire, and it will need to be replaced immediately.

As the outside of your tires wear, bulges and blisters form, which are weak areas that can lead to a sudden blow out. To check if your tires have enough traction, you can perform the Penny Test. Put a penny between the tread block. If there is more than 2/32 of an inch of tread remaining, then you won't be able to see Lincoln's head. If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, then your tread depth is too shallow.
