Jump Start a Car

If you ever have to help out yourself or a friend by jumpstarting a car, this easy process is a great guide to get it started in no time flat. You just need a working car and a set of jumper cables to power up the dead car battery.

Use jumper cables to attach the positive ends to the positive sides on both batteries. Then, hook up the negative ends of the cables. Start the engine of the working car to let it run for at least two minutes. Start the dead car next. You can detach the jumper cables at that point, but do not turn off the car that you just jump started. It needs to keep running for a while to let the battery charge up.

Schedule a follow-up appointment with the helpful service department at Ontario Mazda if your car had to be jump started.
