Halloween Fun for Kids and Parents When Everyone Stays Safe

A little scary fun is always in order on Halloween night, but don't risk your child's safety in the name of a good time.

Children under the age of 12 should not trick-or-treat without adult supervision. If your children are old enough to go trick-or-treating without you, send them out with groups of kids that are also their age. Kids should always stay in familiar and well-lit neighborhoods, and you should know where they are and what time they will be home. Always make sure your kids are visible to passing cars. Drivers may not be able to see kids dressed in dark costumes. Use reflective glow tape to brighten a costume, or have your children carry glow sticks with them. Remind kids not to walk on the road, and to cross the street at designated crosswalks.
